Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve
A primeval forest was saved from lumber harvesting in the 1870s by Colonel James Armstrong. A quiet road leads through the 500-acre grove and short trails lead to two trees, each over 300 feet tall.

Humbolt Redwoods State Park
Located along the scenic Avenue of the Giants, the park features ancient old-growth coast redwood forest. Reserve a site in one of the campgrounds, take a nature tour or even run a marathon in the spring or fall.

Jack London State Historic Park
A memorial to writer and adventurer Jack London, who made his home at this site from 1905 until his death in 1916.
